Baked by Sydney is a home bakery located in the heart of Yaletown. Founded in March 2024, we’ve quickly built a reputation for quality, creativity, and reliability. Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of creating thousands of custom cakes and desserts for birthdays, weddings, corporate events, and intimate celebrations. Every order is thoughtfully designed and baked with care, reflecting our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, consistent flavor, and beautiful, memorable presentation.
Sydney was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, where her appreciation for thoughtful, handcrafted baking began at an early age. Much of her childhood was spent in the kitchen alongside her mom, learning foundational techniques and developing a deep respect for the care and creativity behind every baked good. Those early moments laid the groundwork for what would become a lifelong passion.
Inspired by countless hours spent watching Cake Boss, Sydney began teaching herself the art of cake decorating at just 11 years old. With homemade whipped cream and a piping bag in hand, she spent hours perfecting delicate details, honing her technique, and cultivating an eye for elegant design.
Thirteen years after first discovering her love for cake design, and following the response she received after creating cakes for a friend’s book club, Sydney recognized the opportunity to transform her passion into a career. Baked by Sydney was born. Since then, she has created thousands of bespoke cakes and confections for weddings and life’s most meaningful celebrations, including birthdays, graduations, and other unforgettable milestones.
